Age before beauty.....
It might be of little consolation to Michael Kightly as he recovers at home from the ankle operation which has probably finished his season.
But the Wolves winger was last night named the "Young Player of the Year" at the Football League awards dinner at the Hilton Hotel in London.
Kightly also finished third in the Championship Player of the Year category won by Albion's Kevin Phillips.
Unable to travel to the awards due to last Friday's operation, it was collected on his behalf by manager Mick McCarthy who formed part of the Wolves' contingent present at the Hilton.
"As a very youthful 49-year-old I was delighted to pick up the Football League's Young Player of the Year award," said McCarthy.
"I've never collected one of those before so to wait until I'm nearly 50 is something else!"

He must be one of Eastwoods lot...
Who's younger - McCarthy or Phillips?
