Obi-Wan Elokobi

By Paul Berry on Feb 5, 08 10:06 AM

George Elokobi may have missed out on the chance for his first taste of Wolves' action after the postponement of last night's Birmingham Senior Cup semi final with Blues at Telford.*

But the Cameroon-born left back faced the local media for his first interview yesterday afternoon.

And he's got a fascinating story to tell, as will be related in today's Birmingham Mail and Saturday's Sports Argus.

Elokobi only arrived in England six years ago as a 16-year-old and started on an ascent up the footballing pyramid from park kickabouts to Sunday League to non-league Dulwich Hamlets and then to Colchester. And now Wolves!

A level-headed yet also understandably excited chap, Elokobi had clearly been welcomed to the Wolves pack with open arms judging by the banter from resident joker Neill Collins which interrupted the interview.

Already nicknamed "Obi Wan" by sections of the Wolves faithful, Elokobi will be hoping to be the latest Molineux "Star" to win the promotion "Wars".

Apologies, I'll get me coat......

* Telford's pitch was waterlogged last night! What;s going to happen when we get some real rain?!!!!

Big George will be the buy of the season. Even if he doesn't do a job on the field he will boost your pie sales.
