Villa or Wolves?

Based on tradition and proximity then surely it's Villa.

Or do you go for Albion vs Wolves - a rivalry stoked up more over the last 20 years, than beyond.

Villa or Wolves, you decide.

Back in the 80's it became Albion/Villa cos
the Dingles looked like dropping off the coupon
& quite simply we felt sorry for em. Honestly
they were like Walsall. No, sorry...they weren't
that good. Geographically, yes, Villa's closer
to The Hawthorns but that counts for nowt. What
it comes down to is the fans & Albion's main
support comes from West Brom, Tipton, Wednesbury
Oldbury, Smethwick etc & (especially in the
Tipton/Dudley) areas, the banter is mainly with
the Dingles. As a West Brom lad i'd sooner
'shove it up' the Dingles but i can still hate
Villa's arrogance can't i?

Wolves definitely - purely because of the Black Country thing! The Black Country needs a feisty derby and Albion-Wolves is it!

Even as a Blues fan I accept that v*lla v baggies is the BIG derby. for me ours doesnt match up. and wolves v albion isnt as big.

Growing up i always regarded baggies v v*lla as big un

Its got to be villa for me. Wolves were an insignificance until the early 1990s. always hated the arrogant brummies more than the inbred staffordshire lot

It has to be the Villa. Personally, I don't really care what happens to the Wolves. Yes, it's always nice to get one over them, but the real 'enemy' is the Vile. Arrogant beyond belief.
Roll on Sunday. Can we re-sign Carl Valentine for the day???

Easily the Villa, let the Wolves stick to Stafforshire derbies against Port Vale.
Albion v Villa is and always will be the big'un

My mom and all that side of my family are Wolves. Up until I was 14 I lived in an area where the nearest non-Baggie was a Wolves supporter who lived in the next street. I didn't meet a Villa supporter until secondary school.

So, up until age 11 I thought Wolves was the big derby. It was a few years later after Giles took us back to the top flight that I realised Villa Park was in walking distance of the Hawthorns. I used to go to see the first two "Ron" teams (Ronnie A and then Ron A) with my Wolves supporting mates - they were happy to see good football from a Black Country team even if it was us.

Based on distance and loathing: Villa are the real derby.

I think Blues are hated by Villa, who are hated by Albion, who are hated by Wolves, who everyone hates. I can see Albion vs. Stoke turning into a rivalry over the next few seasons.

Andy said:

I think its always been Villa. Wolves only became a derby when we were struggling to get back to the top flight and they were making their way back from the basement.

Stoke won't be a rivalry as I don't see the two teams being in the same division for more than this one season!

Hi Chris. Off the topic question here. Just wanted to know the ACTUAL capacity of The Hawthorns?

As the figuers varied from a couple of hundred..between the Everton and West Ham game evne though they were both sell-outs. (26,190 and 26,213).

Therefore i wanted to know our actual capacity please Chris?

Thanks in advance. Boing Boing
