A Fab decision and not a bad draw either

News has reached us about an Albion fan who had 704 more reasons than most to celebrate the Baggies' FA Cup victory over Bristol Rovers.

Our West Bromwich-based friend, Fab, placed a £1 bet on each of the four winning quarter-finalists. He predicted victories for Barnsley, Portsmouth, Cardiff and, of course, The Baggies.

At 704-1, you can bet that Fab was raising a glass or two to Miller and co as Albion rattled in the goals...

*So Albion v Portsmouth it is.

Consider this - Albion played Pompey in the 1931 FA Cup fifth round and at the same stage of the competition in '68. Both times Albion went onto lift the trophy.

Thank goodness it's Portsmouth. They will beat Albion and so spare us the prospect of the final being ruined by Albion's long ball, smash it anywhere or up to the big lad football.

I think "pulisthepurist" has been watching too many Stoke matches. There is no smash and hope or long ball football at The Hawthorns.

Full credit to Mowbray, its a pleasure to see West Brom play at the moment, and it will be even better to see us test Mowbray's style of football against Premier opposition in the semi-final.
