A bit of wind never hurt anyone

TONY Mowbray should have no excuses if the expected gale-force winds roll into Bristol this Sunday.

Back in 1998, he was part of the Ipswich Town side who travelled down to Bristol Rovers for a Third Round tie.

It was January, it was windy.

"It was so windy that our goalkicks kept going out for corners and the corners were flying straight out of the ground," said Mowbray.

"Apart from that, all I remember is Ian Holloway warming up beforehand in his tiny short sleeved shirt and wearing very little else."

Ipswich won the replay after drawing 1-1 in Bristol.

An omen perhaps?
