Title tilt is on. £1.40. Derek Taylor.

By Brian Halford on Apr 15, 11 12:56 PM

LUNCH: Warwickshire 543 for 7 (134 overs). Woakes 94, Botha 17.

Woakes has batted for all the world like a high-class specialist batsman. Botha quietly solid as the advantage steadily increased.

Well, the first four sessions of the season couldn't have gone much better could they?

I stand by my prediction that Warwickshire will win this title. There has been enough in the pitch this morning to send the Bears out to bowl later with realistic hopes of making Somerset have to work very hard to save this match.

£1.40 for a cup of tea? Let's think about that. It's a tea-bag and water isn't it? That's a £1.40 per teabag.

D.J.S. Taylor, who now resides in Australia, has just been inducted into Somerset's Hall of Fame. His career is now being described over the public address by a man unfortunately deploying a tone of voice more suitable to a funeral address.

Nice to see you back, boss. Trust you were too dignified to applaud Extras' half-century. Knowing your feelings on this matter, I suspect you would have been happier watching Victoria score 647 v Tasmania in February 1952, Extras 0. It might have looked even better as Sundries 0.
