Solanki falls but Worcestershire dominant

By Brian Halford on Apr 21, 11 11:44 AM

Worcestershire 210 for 3 (54 overs). Ali 41, Kervezee 0.

Rankin makes the breakthrough that Warwickshire desperately need with one that nips away to take Solanki's edge to Johnson. Solanki made 44 in a partnership of 98 in 29 overs with Ali who is batting solidly and has just declined to walk for a huge caught-behind shout by Rankin.

Nine in front, Worcestershire are in a position to really dominate and press hard for their first First Division championship win since 2007 (v Yorkshire at Kidderminster), their first First Division championship win at New Road since 2004 (v Gloucestershire) and their first championship win over Warwickshire since 2000.
