Rattled through
TEA: Warwickshire 215 for 3 (64 overs). Porterfield 66, Troughton 40.
A solid afternoon's work. These two have so far added 99: a groovy foundation towards Warwickshire's record fourth-wicket stand against Durham, the relatively meagre 114 by Westwood and Clarke at Edgbaston in 2010.
Benkenstein and Blackwell have just rattled through 12 overs in 32 minutes.
I mean that quite literally. Thorpe and Borthwick were bowling while Benkenstein and Blackwell produced old-style football rattles from their pockets and swivelled them above their heads for more than half an hour at square leg and mid-off respectively. Porterfield and Troughton did remarkably well to keep their concentration in the circumstances. I'm surprised the umpires didn't step in, quite frankly.
