The Himalayas

By Brian Halford on Aug 16, 10 03:17 PM

Nottinghamshire 219 for 5 (57 overs). Brown 37, Read 26.

Read, so often a thorn for Warwickshire, and Brown have batted well to post a 50 stand in 77 balls.

Barker, 9-1-35-0, was a bit unlucky and has just been replaced by Rankin. Tahir hasn't posed too much of a threat but had Read, on 11, dropped by Maddy at mid-on, albeit from a very-difficult chance, one-handed, high to his right.

The Bears are battling but how many do Nottinghamshire need to be in a position of command? 275?

Hi Brian,

A good effort in the field by the sounds of it.
Any truth in the talk that Gilo is after former Pears skipper Vikram Solanki to bolster the batting? Are there any other whispers doing the rounds?

Hi Caveman. I hadn't heard that talk but I would say Solanki is exactly the sort of player the Bears could do with.

Definitely!

By the tone of your latest post, it sounds like you're sounding the last post for the blog - what is happening?

You do a cracking job of keeping Bears fans up to date and we need you for the relegation run-in.

Hi chaps, cheers and thanks for your interest and comments. Yes that's it, blog-wise. Please come up and say hello at a Bears match if you see me around and it'd be good to have a chat.

Keep up to date
