Difficult behind and in front of us

By Brian Halford on Aug 5, 10 12:06 PM

Warwickshire 31 for 2 (15 overs). Maddy 10, Troughton 9.

Very hard work out there. Maddy broke the shackles by cutting a four and Troughton cover-drove a boundary but Maddy, on 10, survived a huge lbw shout from Palladino and if the Bears get a lead here they will have earned it.

The sun's gone in. Breezy.

Lots of boys are playing games of cricket on the grass behind us, all immaculate in their whites and ever so exuberant, which is lovely to see. One of the games has as its wicket a crate at the back of the press tent and every time the ball beats the bat there is a big thwack behind us. Judging by the number of thwacks batting is as difficult behind us as it is in front of us.

Keep up to date
