Northern Lights
LUNCH: Warwickshire 270 for 6 (99 overs). Clarke 78, Carter 17.
Carter, on 15, lost patience against Rashid, lifted him straight and Best failed to hold a difficult catch high to his right at mid-on.
Warwickshire 96 ahead. They are fighting hard, although only one man has passed 50.
Clarke's innings is remarkable when taken in comparison with the rest of his batting this season. He has lodged nine single-figure scores in the championship but scored a fine 68 at Durham last week and now has 122 runs and counting unbeaten in this match.
Nicky Boje had dislocated a finger so will not play for Northamptonshire against Warwickshire in the T20 tomorrow.
