No luck for Warwickshire this morning
LUNCH: Yorkshire 119 for 1 (31 overs). Lyth 69, McGrath 47.
McGrath, on 41, drove at Piolet and Clarke dropped the catch at second slip, the ball heading to the boundary to add insult to injury. It was a sharp chance but one which a slip fielder of Clarke's calibre would be expected to take.
The scoreboard doesn't look great for Warwickshire and, on a good track, Yorkshire are ominously placed but the Bears have had no luck. Lyth has been streaky at times and appeared for all the world to be out caught-behind on 12. Several other false shots have just not gone to hand.
The new Carnegie Pavilion, operational for the first time in this match, is rather futuristic. I quite like it (it's 783 times more appealing than the hideous new structure at Old Trafford) and, in fact, this ground, while it will never be lovely, looks better-balanced now with sturdy edifices on all sides.
