Inexplicable.
Lunch: Warwickshire 28 for 1 (9 overs). Westwood 10, Botha 1.
Warwickshire's batsmen have been guilty of some strange and flawed shots this season but none as strange and flawed as the one which has just cost Maddy his wicket.
Two minutes before lunch, with the Bears facing a massive rearguard action, Maddy, on 16, danced down the wicket at Rashid, tried to hit the ball across the line through mid-wicket and was bowled.
Inexplicable.
Westwood, on 4, drove expansively at Hannon-Dalby and was dropped by Rashid at second slip.
Rashid and Rafiq were on for the seventh and eighth overs.
Poor light. Intermittent drizzle. They batted through ten minutes of quite heavy rain.

You could just shake them, couldn't you?
Maddy's championship playing days are over - don't forget when he joined us he was not in the Leicester 4 day side. I know he has been unlucky with injuries but he is past his sell by date.
