Maddy goes
Warwickshire 23 for 1 (10 overs). Westwood 10, Botha 0.
Harmison sends one between Maddy's bat and pad and appeals for a caught-behind and this time umpire Garretts gives it out. Maddy, out for 8, is aghast.

Morning Brian, talking of being aghast what on earth is Bell (as well as Trott and Woakes) doing playing for England "Lions" today - where did that come from?
Morning Droitwich - Quite. Bell will, of course, gain absolutely nothing from it. He - and Warwickshire - are just victims of England's pledge to the other countries involved to make England Lions their true second team, even in totally pointless and uninteresting tournaments like the current one.
2 things:
Agreed with the comments on England Lions.
Also understand Maddy was nowhere near the ball.
Yes, Simon, the ball appeared to go straight through the gate. It's fair to say that Mr Garratt is not an umpire with the highest reputation, in terms of decision-making, around the circuit.
In defence of umps, however, their job is made so much harder by fielding sides appealing for virtually everything and batsmen walking for virtually nothing.
Surely Trott and Bell would benefit more from playing for the Bears in this game than playing for the Lions? Haven't the selectors seen enough of those two players to know their capabilities? I think they should be playing for Warwicks v Durham as it's an fully competitive and meaningful fixture. Of course I'm biased but their selection in the Lions team is like a broken pencil, pointless.
Does the ECB have an employee whose brief is specifically to think up stupid unnecessary tournaments?
