Golden goose, graceful pigeons

By Brian Halford on Jun 11, 10 07:29 PM

We reckon tonight's crowd for the Durham game could well be Warwickshire's lowest ever for a home T20 which must be a worry bearing in mind it is a lovely evening and an attractive opposing team and the Bears have won two out of two.

Only quite straight at the City End are the spectators anything resembling tightly-packed. The gathering is around or slightly below what you would expect for a 40 or 50 over match on a nice day.

It seems long, long ago that there was a near full-house here for a Worcestershire T20 game. Do I hear the squawking of a golden goose in its death throes?

On a happier note, a number of pigeons have been gracefully soaring round the stadium all evening. Pigeons get a bad press, by and large, and are certainly far from graceful on the ground but, like bull seals, they are elegant and sleek in their natural environment.
