A worthy alliance is broken
Warwickshire 115 for 5 (40 overs). Ambrose 15, Clarke 0.
Troughton, on 44 (48 balls), edged Rushworth behind having just hit a couple of luscious cover-driven fours. A careless and disappointing end to a resolute stand of 48 which included one of the most comical run-out escapes of all time. Troughton, on 31, and Ambrose got crossed wires about a third leg-bye. With Troughton six yards short of his ground Rushworth, standing next to the stumps, dropped the ball when it was thrown to him.
