A horrible grubber

By Brian Halford on Jun 29, 10 03:12 PM

Warwickshire 140 for 6 (48 overs). Clarke 9, Carter 0.

Warwickshire avoided the follow-on but then, immediately, Ambrose, having played a good hand, got a horrible grubber from Rushworth and fell lbw for 31.

Very attacking fields. At times during the last hour Durham have had mid-on saving one then four slips, a gully, a short leg, two short extras and a short mid-wicket.

Just struck me that noone in this eleven has got a first class 100 this season. That must be rare at this stage.

Yes, Kim. Not an entirely groovy state of affairs. Though I have to say, sitting here watch yet another tale of batting woe unfold, if I was in the Bears camp I'd feel a bit aggrieved at losing Bell, Trott and Woakes to a tournament about which nobody gives two hoots. Or even, arguably, one hoot.

Those England selectors have a lot to answer for.

Wait a minute!
