Win that toss!

By Brian Halford on May 24, 10 08:33 AM

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

It is already hot in Taunton and the sky is cloudless.

No doubt awaiting in the middle of the County Ground is the usual road.

If ever there was a 'bat-first' day...

I’m getting a bit worried about you Brian. I’m sure you’ve invented those previous two posts.
I mean, the thought of guards of honour, theme tunes and flag bearers. Who would seriously think up that load of nonsense?
Even more ridiculous, Dennis Amiss getting 58 ducks, or MJK Smith 41. I’ll swear every time I saw them play they both scored hundreds. Ah, but then every days cricket was played in glorious sunshine, teatime lemonade tasted of lemons and was served in a jug, and Brian Close never ducked a bouncer, he just glanced them off his forehead for either four or sometimes six!

Hi Bozza, if memory serves correct, Mr Amiss finished his career with two ducks - at Scarborough.

Morning Brian,

Ah, Scarborough, doesn't everybody know that Warwickshire players are given special dispensatiion to exclude Scarborough stats from their career records!

On the subject of fielding first, I would have thought the best reason would be to catch our dodgy batting line up as early as possible, which without Bell, Trott and Carter looks extremely threadbare!

Keep up to date
