The hat salesman

By Brian Halford on May 24, 10 05:11 PM

Somerset 85 for 3 (28 overs). Suppiah 36, Hildreth 7.

Imran strikes with his second ball to which De Bruyn, on 34, leans forward and bat-pads to Chopra.

The Bears, led by Miller, have bowled well but they made such a Horlicks of it with the bat it is a long, long way out of the hole from here.

on the plus side, for the Bears fans booked in for the week, if the game is over within 2 days, there are worse places to find yourself with some spare time to kill.

On the disastrous last Ashes tour, I was at Melbourne and, because it finished in 3 days, we had time to have a day sightseeing before the flight to Sydney, which we wouldn't have had otherwise.

I remember when Warwickshire lost to Surrey at the Oval in two days in 1911 myself and Marmaduke spent the third day in some very nice boutiques in the Covent Garden area.
