Showery in Canterbury

By Brian Halford on May 4, 10 09:31 AM

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. It is the archetypal showery morning in Canterbury - at this moment, the sun is shining and a light shower of rain is falling - but there has been little overnight rain and the outfield is "safe" enough for the obligatory football to be kicked about on it so play in Warwickshire's fourth championship match of the season (and first not to take place in a building site) should start on time.

Morning Brian, trust you are looking for a 3 day finish in order to get home and exercise your constitutional rights on Thursday - or did you plan ahead on perusing the fixtures and get a postal vote? Personally, I'm undecided as none of the manifestos have a policy on leg byes.

Morning Droitwich. My proxy vote is safely parked with Mary. Sadly the 'Get Snouts Out The Trough" party standing in Cannock Chase does not have a candidate in Warwick and Leamington!

Gordon Brown in Leamington this morning. Hope Mary doesn't pop out for a loaf.

Really? Well, constituencies don't get more marginal than ours - Labour held it by 266 votes last time.
