Mendips shimmering in the haze
Lunch: Warwickshire 80 for 5 (31 overs). Troughton 7, Botha 2.
Ambrose, so far out of form you can only feel sorry for him, plays an airy defensive shot and is bowled by Thomas for 0. Ambrose has 120 runs from ten championship innings this season.
Thomas took four for 14 in 23 balls.
I have just asked a Somerset reporter if anyone has had any trouble batting here at Taunton so far this season.
"Not really," he replied.
The ball has done a bit. But not enough to justify 80 for 5.

Is there a decent sized crowd today?
I'm planning to come down to Taunton on Wednesday. Will it be all over inside 2 days?
Surely they need to get that young wicketkeeper in, and sign up another batsman.
Hi Steve - yes, quite a decent gathering in, including plenty from the Midlands.
Caveman - I think it'll stretch into three days. I fear Somerset won't be 89 for 6 as the pitch eases.
I think there's a case for playing Richard Johnson unless Tim shows signs of form in the second innings.
