Knott excels

By Brian Halford on May 2, 10 03:02 PM

The first wicket to fall at Canterbury in the Player's Sunday League, after it was formed in 1969, was that of Brian Luckhurst, caught behind off Derek Shackleton for a blob when Kent played Hampshire in their first match under the revolutionary new format on April 27 of that year.

Alan Knott, opening the batting with Luckhurst, scored 60.

Alan Oakman was one of the umpires.
