Clarke, on 17, misses a sweep at Kartik and again umpire Trevor Jesty's digit is raised.

Assuming we lose this game where do we go from here? It is obvious that the batting is the problem - Brian can you please ask Ashley who the batting coach is. There is no one in the seconds ready to move up - except for Johnson who for what ever reason Ashley will not play. What is the captains average? Will Troughton ever get the runs he should? How can things be improved? Very worrying.

John - yes, an innings defeat at Taunton is pretty embarrassing.
Steve - I think Richard Johnson will be in for the Durham game.
Radio legend Clive Eakin and myself will, of course, ask questions of the coach after the game. In the immediate term, a major concern is that they have almost no time to address their problems before the next championship match begins on Saturday.
