Carter brought the runs-required below 100 with a lofted cover-drive to the boundary off Kerrigan.

Later in the over came the 100 stand off 24 overs.

Good crowd in, suggesting the knowledgeable Edgbaston faithful felt there was still a story to unfold here.

Quite good, this championship cricket...
