Woakes's take on it

By Brian Halford on Apr 15, 10 08:51 PM

"We are really pleased with the day. Taking three early wickets was nice but the pitch flattened out and we are pretty pleased with the score they got.
"It was the sort of pitch where if you put the ball in the right place early on there was a bit of movement and bounce. We were unlucky not to get a few more wickets early doors and get right through them.
"Then the pitch flattened out and the ball got softer but we dotted them up and bowled a few maidens and that's when we got a few soft wickets through the pressure we built.
"Last week we talked about how we have got to start taking our chances in the slips and in general fielding, The catches were held today and the boys held on to some difficult ones.
"Naqaash did a really good job as nightwatchman and now Belly can go in in the morning instead of having had a tricky session to face this evening."
