Top drawer

By Brian Halford on Apr 15, 10 11:50 AM

Lancashire 28 for 4 (13 overs). Prince 9, Croft 8.

Woakes has bowled a superb spell, making the batsmen play and moving the ball both ways. Apart from his wickets, the second of which was his 100th in first-class cricket, he has beaten the bat numerous times. Virtually every delivery has posed the batsman a difficult question. Top-drawer seam-bowling.

He has bowled today like Geoff Arnold in his prime.

Sunny but a cold wind.

Fantastic start. Let's hope they can keep the pressure on.

Since taking my jacket off we have not taken a wicket. Bell has placed a man on 45 degrees on the legside for Prince. This is an england tactic which proved fruitful in stopping his flow of runs. Prince is a genuine nice chap,

I think I'd give Trott a couple of overs before lunch - although Imran Tahir's warming up.
