After Carter's counter-attack ended at 9 with a catch at mid-off off Hannon-Dalby (only the second double-barrelled cricketer to take a first-class wicket for Yorkshire), Troughton and Naqaash added 40 in seven overs up to tea.

Yorkshire could regret reprieving Troughton on 57, when he was badly dropped by Bairstow off Hannon-Dalby.
