Carberry lifted Woakes over long-leg for six and is looking good. Not for the first time this season, Carter has been much the most dangerous-looking bowler for the Bears. He has just been replaced in the attack by Clarke.

Maddy has replaced Woakes at the City End and forced an edge from McKenzie, on 12, but Bell dropped the chance in the gully. There is a lot of noise at the Building Site End and sporadic gales of red dust.
