Tom Milnes took 4 for 50 and Stefan Piolet bowled 5.4-4-3-3 as Warwickshire 2nds polished off MCC Young Cricketers by an innings and 58 runs at High Wycombe today.

On July 30, 1956, meanwhile, Hampshire's Derek Shackleton utilised a strong cross-wind at Edgbaston to take Warwickshire's first five wickets, including Tom Cartwright, Bert Wolton and Alan Townsend all bowled for 0, for one run in 45 balls.

Shackleton ended with 7 for 38 after Warwickshire were lifted from 7 for 5 to 112 all out by Dick Spooner's skilful 76.

The match ended in a rain-affected draw.
