Man walks up and down looking pensive
Drizzle almost stopped. Blotters on covers. Man in white floppy hat has taken umbrella down and is walking up and down looking pensive. Sun almost breaking through. White digger-type machine with flashing orange light arrived at Building Site End. Yellow digger stationary like praying mantis ready to pounce. Red digger not visible. Cricket to resume after tea perhaps.
Good omen for next week. Warwickshire were playing Kent during the general election of 1929 and won by an innings.

Brian, me ole mate, how you doing?
I’m enthralled by your cricket commentary today. Intrigued by the updates on the drizzle, but most particularly enraptured by the building site developments you describe. I’m with you, it’s the pavilion end. It might be the old pavilion end, or the new pavilion end, or the soon to be pavilion end, or the we haven’t got a pavilion anymore end, but it’s definitely the pavilion end.
What do you think of this business of the members having to book their seats for the T20’s?
Hi Bozza. I must admit I hadn't heard about it. Not quite sure I see the need unless they think Edgbaston will be full every time, which I doubt will be the case.
By the way, Kent were charging £25 adults, £15 children, for last Sunday's 40-over game - plus another £10 to park. Do they want to keep people away?!
Customer awareness, i.e. rack everybody off and squeeze every last penny you can get out of them!
Kent obviously have an inflated view of their own value.
