Lyth makes 50

By Brian Halford on Apr 12, 10 11:30 AM

Yorkshire 78 for 1 (27 overs). Lyth 51, Shahzad 8.

Naqaash Tahir and Woakes have opened the bowling. Naqaash sent a couple of excellent balls past the bat but the breakthrough remains elusive. Lyth reached a composed and impressive half-century from 89 balls while Shahzad blocks it out as emphatically - and so far successfully - as he did in the first innings.

Still cloudy with imperfect light. Decent bowling conditions. Good, intense cricket.

A blue digger and a yellow digger are active at the Building Site End. If they mated would they produce a green digger?

Come on Warwick !

Just looked up those members of the 1951 championship team still alive.

Thomas Leslie Pritchard is now an amazing 93 years old. Alan Townsend is 88 and still lives locally. Ray Weeks is 79 and Ray Hitchcock 80.

Wouldn't it be great to see a couple of these old boys welcomed and honoured before a big game at Edgbaston.

A nice idea Beatie and it should be possible to arrange through the former players association.
