How to make friends

How to make friends. Tip 56(g).

Walk round town with an edition of "Ker-Plunk" under your arm.

I did this yesterday and it spawned cheery conversations, instead of the usual functional courtesies, with people in the bank, the butcher's, the greengrocer's, the paper shop, the taxidermist's and the library. A number of passers-by chipped in too.

I was taking the game back to the charity shop but have decided to keep it so I can take it out and about whenever I get lonely.

The Littlest Hobo did not have an owner, and despite the attempts of many people to adopt him, he preferred to be on his own, and would head off by himself at the end of each episode. Never actually named on-screen, the dog is therefore often referred to by the name Hobo (though he was often given names by his multitudes of temporary owners). Although there were recurring actors in both series, the only constant was the dog.

The Littlest Hobo was screened in 43 countries but banned in North Korea because Kim il Sung deemed it too violent.
