Cloudy, the need to put it in good areas and an aardvark

By Brian Halford on Apr 12, 10 10:34 AM

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. It's cloudy at Edgbaston which won't do the Bears seamers any harm as they set about trying to take the early wickets they need this morning.

The Bears felt that in the 19 overs they bowled last night they pressed too hard for wicket-taking balls whereas, on this pitch, if you put the ball in the right place - or, "good areas", I believe is the term - that's enough to cause batsmen plenty of problems.

There is what appears to be a dead aardvarc on the A435 near Wythall this morning.

Given Yorkshire are likely to feature in the relegation battle this could be a very big game today.

Have been disappointed with Miller in this game. The Yorkshire lad with similar experience looked much the better bowler.

I agree. Thought Carter, who bowled so well in the first innings, might have had a bowl last night.

I can confirm the dead creature on the A435 was actually a pterodactyl.
