A small sliver of salmon

By Brian Halford on Apr 27, 10 12:53 PM

Lunch: Hampshire 86 for 4 (30 overs). Carberry 55, Pothas 0.

Carter, recalled for another burst pre-lunch, defeated a rather undistinguished attempted turn to leg by Vince and won another lbw appeal.

Good session for Warwickshire. If they can remove these two, both of whom have history against the Bears, briskly after lunch they will be in a strong position on a track expected to turn.

Carberry's last four innings against the Bears, before today, were 192no, 77, 65 and 204.

Was that the Carberry who won the Grand National on L'Escargot in 1975?

Brian, you've been a godsend so far today - the only reliable source of score updates for those of us not at the ground. Both Cricinfo and BBC Sport are currently showing Hants as 18-2 off 9.5 overs !

Cheers, Sorrento. Yes we, in the press box, go to those sources too so as not to bother the scorers too often. Don't know what the problem is.
