Westwood and Clarke thrive
IAN Westwood and Rikki Clarke struck half-centuries as Warwickshire recorded a 14-run win over a Bloemfontein Select XI in a 40-over friendly today.
Warwickshire 269 for seven: Westwood 84 (102 balls, nine fours, two sixes), Clarke 56 (39 balls, three fours, three sixes), Ambrose 27, Barker 25 not out, Carter 22, Piolet 21 not out. New signing Varun Chopra was briskly off the mark with a boundary but then fell to his sixth ball for 4. Troughton scored 8 and Botha 2.
The Select XI 255 for five: Walter Nel 125 (133 balls, 14 fours, five sixes).
Carter 7-0-37-1, Tahir 6-1-22-1, Miller 5-0-27-0, Barker 7-0-66-1, Botha 5-0-27-0, Clarke 8-0-39-1, Piolet 2-0-35-0.
There was one spectator, a Warwickshire supporter, but he had to leave after an hour to catch his plane.

We need Jim Troughton to stand up and be counted this season,(we will probably be without Bell and Trott) we all know he has the talent. A great batsman when his inninings is flowing.
