Keith Alexander - one of the very best

What desperately sad news that Keith Alexander passed away, aged only 53, last night shortly after returning home from his Macclesfield team's match at Notts County.

A statement issued this morning by Macclesfield FC referred to Keith as a "splendid" man.

My dictionary defines "splendid" as "magnificent, admirable, glorious, excellent".

Spot on. Keith was all of those things. In an industry containing so much that is so squalid, so disingenuous and so downright dishonest, Keith simply shone.

Good footballer and coach. Lovely man. We can't afford to lose the likes of him.

Very, very sad.
