Darren Maddy's operation went well and he has just been collected from hospital by Warwickshire physio Gerhard Mostert and restored to the big, warm bosom of the Bears' squad in Bloemfontein.

All being well, Maddy will return to the crease in May. Warwickshire's three-day friendly against Leeds UCCE at Weetwood starting on May 10 looks to be an appropriate target.
