SUN STOPPED PLAY
Lancashire 126 for 4 (45 overs). Laxman 53, Croft 2.

The low setting sun in the eyes of the batsmen and behind-the-wicket fielders halted play and erased the last five scheduled overs. A strange situation which occurs at Old Trafford alone of English county grounds and will cease to be a problem in a couple of years time when the square has been turned round.
