Inching towards glorious silverware

By Brian Halford on Sep 27, 09 05:27 PM

Warwickshire 118 for 4 (29 overs). Trott 61, Westwood 16.

Trott and Bell added 61 in 12 overs before Bell, on 28, pinged a long hop from Keedy straight to mid-wicket. Keedy and fellow spinner Parry then built serious pressure on the Bears with 12 overs between them for three for 37. Troughton swept Keedy to long leg to perish for 8 and Ambrose was adjudged, to his disbelief, lbw to Parry for 2.

Bizarrely, with the spinners bowling beautifully, they were both taken off, allowing Trott and Westwood to get the total nurdling forward again.

Nurdling will do it for Warwickshire. And that's about all that's possible in extremely poor light.

The 29th over was miscounted by the umpire. A five-ball over.
