Digestive biscuit

By Brian Halford on Sep 23, 09 11:48 AM

Warwickshire 41 for 5 (19 overs). Troughton 5, Clarke 0.

Bit of a giveaway wicket for Lancashire. Hogg's first ball is clipped straight to mid-wicket by Bell who falls for five as Smith takes a low catch. Then Ambrose flicks outside off-stump at Hogg and edges to Horton at second slip for 3.

Chapple, fuelled by figures of 9-6-6-2, is full of chat towards the batsmen. Hogg 2-2-0-2.

Very slow outfield. Thickening cloud. Two-paced pitch. Inconsistent bounce.

There is a match referee, Tony Pigott, here. He has just helped himself to a coffee and a digestive biscuit and might be taking a close interest in this pitch.

I wouldn't expect any favours from Piggot. Remember those beamers at Reeve !
