Loye, on 13, was brilliantly run out, backing up too far, by a direct hit from mid-on by Carter.

That was 45 for three and these batsmen have since more than doubled the score with Laxman looking increasingly and ominously confident. He took 16 balls to get off the mark but has since score 29 of 25 balls.
