A disgraceful 25-minute hiatus
BAD UMPIRING STOPPED PLAY: Lancashire 231 for 4 (80 overs). Laxman 97, Croft 57.
Play has just resumed after a disgraceful 25-minute hiatus. After another less-than-scintillating sessions of 28 runs in nine overs the umpires decreed that the light had deteriorated to a point at which it was unsafe to play cricket.
It was so ridiculous that I can only imagine that the umps were a) bored or b) cold. It has been perfectly playable.
Still the cacophony from the new tram station building work was at its loudest so it wasn't all bad news.
About to resume: Woakes with the new ball.
