39 tons of clothing

By Brian Halford on Sep 24, 09 05:16 PM

Lancashire 311 for 7 (104 overs). Sutton 17, Hogg 6.

Miller impressed in a long spell from the Stretford End in which he bowled Laxman (113, 254 balls, 14 fours) and had Chapple harshly adjudged lbw for 14.

Lancashire no longer need 350 to be safe from relegation. They are safe already following Sussex's collapse at Trent Bridge. Sussex are down.

Carter and Woakes bowling. Bit end-of-termy.

It is claimed that "mothers wash 39 tons of clothes over their lifetime." How did the perpetrators of the claim work it out?

Only just discovered these excellent blogs. Now I regret emailing Phil Britt last week saying I'd watched the Hove Press Box and couldn't see you working at all!fwg2h7

Morning Bob. There's always a bit going on beneath the surface!
It was rather strange, by the way, (and a bit lonely) on the last day at Hove to be the only member of the written press on duty. A worrying portent, I fear, as the Times and Telegraph join the rest of the national press in slashing back their county cricket coverage.

All the more important that the local papers keep their cricket coverage right up then!!!!
