The trombonists at the front

By Brian Halford on Aug 27, 09 08:13 PM

Naqaash Tahir has been offered a two-year contract as Warwickshire hope to fend off interest from Kent, Sussex and Worcestershire.

Sreesanth showed what he could to today with fiery bowling which, along with Tim Ambrose's positive and intelligent batting, has given Warwickshire a chance to harvest a win which would seriously ease the pressure for the last three games.

Half an hour after stumps, on an outfield deserted but for dozens of seagulls making their evil plans for tonight, the Indian Test star bowled a few balls to some cricket-crazy little lads before exchanging high-fives with them. Nice.

And everybody being allowed to stretch their legs on the field during intervals. Nice.

And outgrounds. Nice.

Ah, you're back! When did that happen?

I think this seagull thing is personal to you Brian. When I was in Scarborough I barely saw or heard one seagull. Mind you I barely saw anything at all given the place was permanently shrouded in fog. Not fog, I was told, it's fret, well it looked like fog to me! freezing fog at that!

I'll take you word for it that the cricket ground there is a wonderful sight. All I can remember is sitting, waiting for the visibility to rise above zero, wrapped up as if I was on an Arctic expedition. I could barely see the other side of the ground!

Morning Bozza. Aye - returned to the blogging fray this week after a month on the physio's couch.
I think Scarborough cricket ground, because it is so unchanged in well over a century, is amongst the most alluring sports venues in the UK, alongside Lord's, Hove, Wimbledon, Chepstow racecourse and, of course, Sincil Bank.

Keep up to date
