Frost, Ambrose, Hitchcock, Campbell.

By Brian Halford on Aug 27, 09 11:33 AM

Warwickshire 85 for 4 (30 overs). Frost 14, Ambrose 22.

It looks a different game this morning. Solid start by the batsmen. Ambrose played a couple of false shots against Hoggard early on but is hinting at returning confidence. Frost has played two lovely cover-drives for four and is looking as implacable as he did last season.

Scarborough Cricket Ground is a magnificent sight. A good crowd, generating a buzz of anticipation (probably recalling the record ninth-wicket stand for all-comers on the ground - 98 by Ray Hitchcock and Alan Smith in 1963) and really enjoying the cricket. This ground, incredibly little changed since Yorkshire first played here in 1874, embedded so deep in the town and the neighbourhood and the county's cricket history, is truly one of English cricket's treasures.

Alistair Campbell is here. Called up, we understand, to replace Adil Rashid in Yorkshire's spin department.

Keep up to date
