2.18am

By Brian Halford on Aug 27, 09 08:08 AM

I think I've worked out why Warwickshire fare so badly at Scarborough. It's the seagulls.

Last night every seagull in east Yorkshire - abetted, I think, by a few from north Lincolnshire - gathered for a noise-making competition. Split into various categories, ie: screeching, squawking, yelping, banshee-resembling, this took place at 2.18am.

It did not last long but ensured that the sleep of any visitors to the town was sufficiently fractured that they could not get back to sleep until well after 4am.

This makes it very difficult to execute one's work to the required standard next day.

The ECB, in alliance with the RSPB, must act TODAY.
