Yorkshire soothed by Sayers
Yorkshire 221 for 2 (76 overs). Sayers 101, McGrath 22.
McGrath, on 20, pulled Clarke hard but at catchable height to square-leg but Woakes dropped the catch. Clarke still bowling well.
Sayers ton came from 257 balls. A great job for his team against an attack that has, for the most part, bowled well. It's been a display of old-fashioned, thou-shalt-not-pass, traditional opening batsmanship.
Interesting England team picture taken before the Test match began this morning. Twelve players. Eight support staff. With the latter in the middle!

We are trying to match Windies who have dropped 6 catches. Our fielding coach has work to do.
