The first over, from Woakes, was a maiden. The second, from Rankin, went for 13. Kent's openers rattled up 47 in nine overs before Key, on 20, flashed airily at Woakes and edged to Ambrose. Denly raised the 50 with a murderous pull for four off Carter.
