Seagull a l'orange

By Brian Halford on Apr 16, 09 02:28 PM

Warwickshire 385 for 7 (96 overs). Carter 10, Woakes 0.

Bell finally fell in unlucky fashion, leg-glancing Phillips too fine and being brilliantly caught down the leg-side by Kieswetter. He made 172 from 272 balls with 25 fours and trudged off looking devastated to be out.

Clarke gloved a lifted from Turner to the keeper, second ball, to perish for 0.

Carter did well to keep out his first ball, a fiendish yorker, then swatted his second high into the new Somerset Stand for six.

Banks, brought back on because Carter does not like spin, promptly got one to turn past Ambrose and bowl him for 57.

This is too much, it'll be Seagull Wellington next! I'm off to fetch the local RSPCA Inspector!

Why is Botha batting so far down the order? Is this a dastardly new plan for the season or isn't he fit?

Botha's elbow injury affects his batting more than his bowling. Not that he's doing too badly at the moment, until this very second when he has just spooned Turner to mid-on!
