On the threshold...

By Brian Halford on Apr 23, 09 05:26 PM

Warwickshire 199 for 4 (55 overs). Troughton 92, Ambrose 31.

Troughton's maiden century, against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl in 2002, a glorious unbeaten 131 on a slow pudding of a pitch, was among the best innings I have ever seen.

This will be (notice I said 'will' not 'would'?) his third ton against Hampshire.

You can't jinx it like that! You have to throw salt over your shoulder or turn around three times and spit or something! Or at least repent if he gets out early.

99 not out. One to go. Piece o' cake.

Arguable about that drop. Some in the press box reckoned it came off the pad.
